To unite and empower youth from the VicTas Synod to be able to experiment, live and act out their faith for a more God-envisioned world.
Process:
To meet on the 5th Sunday of the month within a local congregational setting that will act as ‘host’ for the day. The location will change from 5th Sunday to 5th Sunday, moving around the Synod (but beginning within metro). 16 ????? ???
To explore an instance of social injustice through interaction, conversation and emersion, and to empower young people with the knowledge and skills to make a difference to that, and many other, issues. Where possible to focus on an issue that the host congregation is involved in, and to also bring some of the afternoon’s experiences into the worship space that evening.
To create a worship experience that is created by the ‘host’ congregation and shared by all who attend. For the ‘host’ congregation to be able to invite input/participation from other churches around them and across the Synod.
To allow and encourage, young people to form friendships, mentors and faith stories with other young people from around the Synod.
To encourage and promote a Synod based youth worship time and space that will empower young people to be involved, be creative and develop resources that can be used by others.
Resources:
A team of people, with a range of skills, will be available for information, resource and discussion. Part of the team will visit the host congregation within a month before the ‘morefocus’ to provide a point of contact and support for the congregation.
